I am standing up to an amendment that would write discrimination into our state constitution--will you?
You may have heard that recently, Republicans in the Minnesota Senate introduced three bills to put a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage on the ballot in 2012. Not only is this out-of-touch with what voters in Winona County want to see from our state government--save, create, and enable jobs--it would prevent lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals from having the rights that I--a heterosexual male--have.

There is a lot going on in the world (as there always is) and lately I've been struggling to keep up with all of it. Over the next week or so I plan to publish some comments about the various stories that have been occupying my thoughts.

Although Winona State has done a few things for energy and water efficiency, there are many different ways to create a more energy and water efficient college
Everywhere around the country, colleges are saving money and creating good reputations for themselves by installing new water and energy efficient products throughout their campuses. Winona State University should be at the forefront of establishing these new products throughout their campus. Although WSU has made some initiative towards using efficient products, there is much more work that can and should be done to many of our campus...
