NBS has received the honor for the third consecutive year
Winona State University’s National Broadcasting Society (NBS) has received the Chapter of the Year award at the Regional Convention for the third consecutive year. Seventh Annual High School Honor Jazz Band Festival brought fresh talent, as well as a nationally-recognized professional jazz band to Winona
  Winona State University hosted the Seventh Annual High School Honor Jazz Band Festival Nov. 12 and 13 in the Performing Arts Center in Winona, Minn. The honor jazz bands, featuring 83 high school students from 27 different schools in Minnesota, and Wisconsin, will perform at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, on the Main Stage, WSU Performing Arts Center. Nov. 13     Tundra Swan Watch     9:00am to 3:00pm     A guided bus tour will leave Winona on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 9 a.m. and return by 3 p.m. Participants will travel to Weaver, Minn., for views of tundra swans and other waterfowl.The tour will then travel to the Wisconsin Islands Closed Area near Brownsville, Minn. Seating is limited and reservations are required.

Cranberries are not vegetables and they are not a fruit grown at Featherstone Farm -- so why I am writing about them?  First,  cranberries are in season.  They are very affordable this time of year.  It is almost Thanksgiving and I think there is a law that some kind of cranberry dish has to be on the table.

If we are to address the issue of climate change, we need to move beyond debating the debate

University pledges to be carbon neutral by 2050
Global climate change is a huge issue in the world today and Winona State University has big plans, such as developing environmentally friendly buildings to help reduce carbon outputs in the atmosphere. The CLASP lecture series hosted two presentations on Wednesday about global climate change, and what WSU is doing to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide it releases into the atmosphere.
