Sounds of Cinema has joined with the Winona State University English, Mass Communication, and Political Science Departments to present the documentary PoliWood on Wednesday, April 11th at 7pm in the Science Lab Auditorium on the Winona State campus. A panel discussion featuring Winona State faculty will follow.

Despite being released 30 years ago, the grindhouse film is simultaneously profound and obscene and deserves recognition as remaining a true horror movie
On October 18, 2010, I sponsored a screening of the film Cannibal Holocaust on the Winona State campus. Banned and censored all over the world, Cannibal Holocaust is one of the most notorious and most fiercely debated films of all time. In the next few paragraphs I’ll explain why I showed this film and why I believe it deserves serious consideration by audiences. The association now includes approximately 12 active members from our community, plus the support of the members of the Winona Community Garden, and the Permaculture groups. Our next meeting is Thursday evening at 7:00 pm in 329 Pasteur Hall on the Winona State Campus.

A group of us have founded a beekeeping association in Winona. We will meet this Thursday (September 2nd) at 7 pm in 237 Pasteur Hall on the Winona State University Campus. This meeting will focus on creating our own bee ordinance proposal for presentation to the City Council.
