Like most people in America I had no idea that farming and agricultural products had such an impact on our enviornment.  Environmental Geoscience has really opened up my eyes to a lot of new things.  I would suggest that everyone takes the class.  It makes you more aware of what you can do to help decrease your impact.  I now make a conscious effort to reduce my impact.  Every little bit helps.  Developing countries need to be a little more aware of the harm that slash and burn farming methods have on the enviroment.  Cutting down rainforests is not the answer to getting more farmland.
